About the Opportunity
Mooto holdings is building a robust pool of high-caliber research consultants (MDs and PhDs) to serve as Lead Investigators and Project Directors across a wide portfolio of local and global research initiatives. These projects span medical research, public and community health, monitoring and evaluation, and social science-based interventions.
We are particularly interested in researchers with demonstrable experience designing, managing, and implementing complex studies in cross-sectoral environments.
Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Research Consultant, you will:
- Lead the conceptualization, design, and execution of high-quality research studies.
- Develop research proposals in response to funding opportunities.
- Provide technical leadership on methodology, ethics submissions, sampling, tool development, and statistical frameworks.
- Manage or support interdisciplinary research teams, including junior researchers and field staff.
- Oversee data collection, management, analysis, and reporting, ensuring alignment with international standards (e.g., GCP, CONSORT, STROBE).
- Ensure research adheres to ethical guidelines and gain necessary IRB approvals.
- Lead the preparation of technical reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and donor submissions.
- Collaborate with partner institutions, government agencies, and donor representatives.
- Present findings at academic conferences, stakeholder workshops, and policy forums.
Essential Qualifications & Skills
Academic & Professional Requirements- PhD or MD in relevant fields (Public Health, Medicine, Epidemiology, Sociology, Anthropology, Health Economics, Development Studies, etc.).
- Postdoctoral experience or equivalent applied research experience preferred.
- Track record of publications, research grants, or fellowships (especially for mid-career and senior applicants).
- Strong grasp of quantitative and/or qualitative research methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience leading mixed-methods research projects.
- Proven ability to design and manage M&E systems, logical frameworks, and theory of change models.
- Proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., STATA, R, NVivo, Atlas.ti, SPSS, SAS).
- Experience drafting or contributing to successful grant applications.
- Excellent writing and communication skills tailored to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Independent, proactive thinker with strategic vision.
- Strong organizational and leadership capabilities.
- Cross-cultural sensitivity and fieldwork experience in LMICs or underserved communities is a plus.
- Committed to ethical, equitable, and inclusive research practices.
